Vampire Liquors

A few weeks ago, I went on a pretty awesome date. While we were wandering around Wicker Park, I saw a door that said "Empire Liquors" in gothic script, but I thought it said "Vampire Liquors", plus the windows were all blacked out and creepy.

The boy I was on the date w. invited me back to his apartment to draw shit on his walls. His apartment has a crappy paint job and the landlord basically offered to let him do whatever he wants with the walls. I had brought over some acrylic paints for this specific purpose. So I came up with this concept for a manga called "Vampire Liquors" where Al Capone is a vampire who starts his own liquor store in futuristic Chicago. Anyway, you can see the lovely illustration above. I am quite proud of it. It was a collaborative piece to the extent that my date thought that dracula should have a pink shirt and green hat. I am not sure if that is flamboyant gangster style, or just gay.

Under the Blacklight is my jam.

Some people don't like Rilo Kiley's "Under The Blacklight" because it sounds like Stevie Nicks, Lionel Richie, and a delegate from Abba and/or the BeeGees having a four way in a hot tub. These people are fools. Rilo Kiley performing disco music is the most genius thing ever, especially considering it's produced by DR. DRE'S PRODUCER WTF. And it's still emo in it's own coked out way.

Anyway, that shit is totally my jam, even Dejalo, which Liber says is incorrect Spanish but he likes the song anyway. I think the song about the 15 year old girl is lame, but otherwise, totally my fucking jam. Rock on Jenny Lewis & Company, let the haters hate and watch the money pile up.

(Also Rilo Kiley played a free show at my college before they were big and my ex-bf were really into them and I was like meh....I was dumb!!!)
